Helping schools and settings to embed, develop and build their own capacity to meet the diverse needs of children and young people is a fundamental part of LSS practice and we are committed to supporting you to secure good outcomes for vulnerable young people with SEND by helping all those that teach and support them to have the range of skills and knowledge to meet their needs.
The LSS training and additional services offer to schools demonstrates the value we place on professional development and support, as well as provides opportunities for schools to build capacity to meet learning needs through intervention training.
This year, we are operating an ‘on demand’ system, rather than provide a date for each training session; this way we hope to be able to offer more opportunities to attend than previously. Colleagues are asked to register their interest via Learning Leads and once we have a minimum cohort you will be contacted to arrange a suitable date for delivery. Many of the universal courses, to support professional development, will also be free of charge.
Settings can also book whole school staff events, but these will be charged at a minimum rate.
Please have a look through our brochure as you start to consider provision and SEND CPD for your staff. Your LSS teacher will be more than happy to provide further information, or you can contact the Service directly via email firstname.lastname@example.org
